Abia 2027: Popular group endorses Ikoh to unseat Otti, begins mobilisation

A socio-cultural group in Abia state on the platform of Ugo Abia, has endorsed former Minister of State for Science and Technology, Chief Henry Ikoh, to contest the governorship ticket of he All Progressives Congress (APC) and thereafter unseat the current administration in the state.
The resolution came after a one-day stakeholders meeting held in Umuahia, Abia state capital early in the week which was attended by all the 17 Local Government Coordinators across the state.
The forum led by Chief Ndubuisi Eme, resolved to join other groups and prominent individuals who have been calling on Chief Ikoh to join the governorship race and publicly make his intention known to the people.
In his speech, the leader of Ugo Abia, Chief Eme described High Chief Ikoh as “the only reputable aspirant capable and resourceful to unseat the incumbent governor of Abia state, Alex Otti.”
According to him, Ikoh as a former Commissioner and former minister has been tested and proven qualified with enormous experience.
While declaring the support of his group for the actualisation of Ikoh’s governorship ambition, Chief Eme said the group will begin mobilisation across all the Local Governments for the project.
Also speaking, one of the LG coordinators, Ukasey Kingsley said: “The take home from this meeting us that people should go home and begin to tell others that the good thing is coming. We are persuading Chief Ikoh to contest on the platform of the APC and if he agrees because we have not even told him, but we believe that he will agree by God’s grace.”
