Air Peace has condemned what it described as the “unruly and disruptive” conduct of Senator Adams Oshiomhole at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos on Wednesday morning.

In a statement issued by the airline’s management, the carrier alleged that the former APC National Chairman and current Senator representing Edo North became aggressive after missing his flight to Abuja.

According to Air Peace, Senator Oshiomhole arrived at Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall) of the Lagos airport at about 6:10 a.m. for Flight P47120, which was scheduled to depart for Abuja at 6:30 a.m. The airline noted that in line with its strict on-time departure policy, boarding had already closed and the flight departed as scheduled.

“Upon being informed of the missed flight, the politician resorted to violence, physically assaulting our staff and forcefully barricading the terminal’s entrance,” the airline claimed.

The statement further alleged that Oshiomhole went as far as shutting the terminal’s access gate and personally manning the entrance, preventing other passengers from accessing the terminal.

“This unacceptable behaviour caused significant disruption to ongoing operations and affected numerous travelers scheduled for various flights,” Air Peace said.

In response to the chaos, the airline said it promptly activated a contingency plan, rerouting affected passengers through an alternate terminal to reduce delays and inconvenience.

“We are deeply saddened that such a high-profile figure displayed conduct so unbecoming and disruptive to fellow passengers and our personnel,” the airline added.

Reaffirming its policy on staff safety, the airline stressed: “Air Peace maintains a zero-tolerance stance on violence or any form of aggression against our staff and passengers.”

As of press time, Senator Oshiomhole had not publicly responded to the allegations.
