Super Falcons captain and Atletico Madrid forward Rasheedat Ajibade is thrilled with the club’s achievements in the 2023/24 Spanish Liga Feminine season and is already eyeing next season’s Women’s Champions League.
The 24-year-old forward scored 10 goals and contributed four assists, playing a crucial role in Atletico’s third-place finish. Her winning goal in the final match against Villarreal secured 61 points and a UEFA Champions League spot, edging out Levante with 60 points.
The former FC Robo woman, who was voted the club’s Player of The Season, celebrated the feat as she reflected on the campaign, thanking all concerned in an Instagram post on Thursday.
The post read, “The 2023–2024 season comes to a close, and what a season it’s been! We stand here today, humbled and grateful, to celebrate our incredible achievement: qualifying for the Champions League!
“First and foremost, all the glory to God. Through his strength and guidance, we persevered through every challenge.
“To our amazing fans, your unwavering support has been our fuel. The roar of the crowd on game days, the messages of encouragement, the belief in us—it all carried us forward. Thank you for being the best fans in the world.
“To my incredible teammates, this wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you. We pushed each other, supported each other, and celebrated together. You’re more than just teammates; you’re family.
“A massive thank you to our dedicated staff and coaches. Your tireless work, tactical brilliance, and unwavering faith in us made all the difference. We are incredibly fortunate to have you in our corner.
“This is just the beginning. The Champions League awaits, and we’re hungry for more. We’ll be working harder than ever, driven by your continued support. Here’s to a future filled with even greater achievements!
“Onward and upward!”
