Arteta provides Magalhaes, Timber injury updates

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta spoke about the possible injuries suffered by Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber in the Gunners’ win over Fulham, just six days before the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid.

Arsenal continued their good run of form in the Premier League after claiming a 2-1 win over Fulham. However, the Cottagers’ visit proved costly for Arteta, who could have lost two key players ahead of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Just 15 minutes after the kick-off , Magalhaes suffered a muscle injury and was replaced by Kiwior, while full-back Jurrien Timber was forced off with an injury in the second half.

It is expected that both players could miss at least the first leg of the quarter-final against Real Madrid, which is only 6 days away. Coach Mikel Arteta gave injury updates on both players after the match, although the Gunners are still awaiting tests.

“With both of them, because they are two players in this team that never want to come off. Gabi felt something in his hamstring. We don’t know how big that is and with Jurrien as well. He was already struggling very early in the game. He managed to continue, at some point he couldn’t. So that’s the downside to it,” he told reporters.

Gabriel and Timber will be assessed by Arsenal’s medical team on Wednesday, with tests determining the extent of any injury
