The operatives of the Nigerian Army have been withdrawn from the popular Abuja plaza, Banex.

The military men left on Monday as business continues as usual.

The military had locked the plaza after thugs within the plaza were caught in a tape beating two soldiers.

Traders and authorities have reached a settlement after intense talks, resolving the dispute that led to the closure, and allowing the plaza to reopen its doors.

The initial closure followed a dramatic incident where members of the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police stormed the plaza, engaging in physical confrontations with passersby and security guards.

The action was a response to a prior clash between military police and traders in the busy market, which had escalated tensions.

Now that the issues have been resolved, Banex Plaza is expected to return to business as usual, bringing welcome relief to traders and customers.
