Bandits kill Katsina lecturer, abduct children

Suspected bandits have killed a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma in Katsina State.
Dr. Tiri Gyan David, the esteemed Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development, tragically lost his life in a brutal attack that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A witness who wished to remain anonymous revealed that the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at Dr. David’s home in Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The community was invaded by heavily armed bandits, who used their sophisticated weapons to fire shots indiscriminately, striking fear into the hearts of the residents.
During the attack, they also abducted two of Dr. David’s children.
Abubakar Sadiq, the Katsina Police Command spokesman, confirmed the tragedy incident and mentioned that a detailed statement would be released soon.
Dutsinma, a local government area in Katsina State that is particularly vulnerable to bandit attacks, remains a hotspot of insecurity, even as the state government and security agencies work tirelessly to address the issue.
