Barcelona striker, Ferran Torres, was the only player absent from Spain’s final training session before their upcoming trip to the Netherlands.

He stayed behind in the gym as a precaution and could be one of the players left out for the first leg of their Nations League quarter-final.

The Spanish squad completed their final session at their training complex on Wednesday ahead of the Nations League quarter-final, with Torres not participating in the session.

Coach Luis de la Fuente used this time to make his final decisions for the match against the Netherlands.

Starting five minutes ahead of schedule, the players began with warm-up runs, stretching and rondos, before moving to ball drills. The session ended with a closed-door match and finishing practice.

The Barcelona forward’s absence was due to discomfort, but Fabian Ruiz, who had been working solo earlier in the week, trained alongside the group for the second consecutive day and is expected to start.

The winning team in the practice match, which involved more players to ensure everyone got a chance to participate, included Remiro, Pedro Porro, Dean Huijsen, Robin Le Normand, Alejandro Grimaldo, Martin Zubimendi, Pedri, Fabian Ruiz, Lamine Yamal, Yeremy Pino, Ayoze Perez and Samu Omorodion.

The Spanish team will depart from Madrid’s Barajas airport at 17.00 CET on a charter flight to Rotterdam, where coach Luis de la Fuente and Fabian Ruiz will hold a press conference at the De Kuip stadium at 20.00 CET.
