Binance Executive appears in court over alleged evasion of taxes


A detained Binance Holding Limited Executive, Tigran Gambaryan has appeared before Federal High Court, Abuja on Thursday.
He appeared in court after being arraigned along with his fleeing colleague, Nadeem Anjarwalla tax evasion.
Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja set to arraigned Binance holding company and its two executives.
The defendants, Tigran Gambaryan, arrived at the court at 9:15 am on Thursday while his colleague, Anjarwalla was absent as he was said to be on the run.
The trial judge is not a vacation judge, and the Federal High Court is currently on Easter holiday. However, Justice John Tsoho, the Chief Judge of the court, issued an order directing Justice Nwite to conduct the case since it was critically important to the country’s interests.
The defendants are charged with five-count charge of money laundering, and operating specialised businesses in Nigeria without a license.
