Breaking: Fire razes FG office, millions in property destroyed

A fire outbreak has engulfed the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO) office in Oshodi, Lagos, near the Cappa Bus Stop.
The incident, which began around midnight on Christmas Day, continued into the early hours of Boxing Day, December 26, 2024.
Eyewitnesses reported that rescue operations were ongoing as of 4 a.m., with firefighters from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service working alongside the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) to contain the raging inferno.
While no casualties have been reported, the fire has caused significant destruction, with property worth millions of naira reduced to ashes. Officials are yet to determine the cause of the blaze, and authorities have not provided an official statement on the incident.
Efforts to fully extinguish the fire and prevent its spread to nearby structures are still underway as Lagos emergency services continue to battle the situation.
