Breaking: Fubara to swear-in newly elected LG chairmen Sunday


Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is set to swear in newly elected local government chairmen today, following their successful election on Saturday.
This was announced by Dr. Tammy Danagogo, Secretary to the State Government in a statement on Sunday.
This development comes after the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission declared the winners of the local government elections, with 22 of 23 local governments being won by the Action Peoples Party (APP).
The statement reads:
His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, will today Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear-in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4pm.
The newly elected Chairmen, along with one (1) guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30pm.
