Paris Saint-Germain went into the half-time break with a 2-0 lead over Inter Milan in Saturday’s Champions League final in Munich through Achraf Hakimi and Desire Doue’s goals.

Paris Saint-Germain’s hunt for their first-ever Champions League could not have begun in a better way. The Parisians, looking to cap off a remarkable season with a treble, dominated Inter Milan in the first half of Saturday’s final, opening the scoring just past the ten-minute mark.

Vitinha slipped in the inside-left channel of the box for Desire Doue, who spun before squaring to Achraf Hakimi. The Moroccan capped off a majestic play, as he was given the simple task of tapping home from six yards to spark jubilation among PSG supporters at the Allianz Arena.

Luis Enrique’s men did not alleviate the pressure of the gas, wanting to get the second at all costs. And their efforts were rewarded with eight minutes later. A deadly counter-attack initiated by Nuno Mendes released Ousmane Dembele down the left flank.

The former Barcelona forward lobbed a ball to find Doue on the opposite end of the box. The 19-year-old controlled before half-volleying it on target, getting a crucial deflection off Federico Dimarco to leave Yann Sommer with no chance of saving his side.

The Ligue 1 champions could’ve been 3-0 up before the half-time whistle, with Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Dembele getting a couple of chances to put the game to bed. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri will need a much-improved performance after struggling to find a response against their opponents.
