Breaking: Soyinka released after DSS arrest

Adejuwon Soyinka, Regional Editor of The Conversation Africa and investigative journalist, has been released by the Department of State Services (DSS) after being detained at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
Thediscovererng.com reports that Soyinka was arrested on Sunday morning, shortly after arriving from the UK, with no reason given for his detention.
His friend reported that he was held incommunicado, with his phone unreachable.
DSS spokesperson Peter Afunanya initially denied knowledge of the arrest, but Soyinka’s friend later confirmed his release from the DSS Ikoyi office, with his passport seized.
