Breaking: Super Arsenal outshine Real Madrid

Declan Rice scored twice from two free-kicks on Tuesday to give Arsenal a massive 3-0 advantage in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against Real Madrid.
It all happened in the second half at the Emirates as Arsenal and Real Madrid went into the break on level terms. The Gunners provided a better display in the first period, but struggled to find the back of the net thanks to a couple of mighty saves from Tibauth Courtois. Nevertheless, their efforts were eventually rewarded as Declan Rice struck directly from the free-kick in the 58th minute. The Englishman curled the ball wonderfully, bending it around the Merengues’ wall and past the Belgian goalkeeper to give the hosts a crucial lead. The midfielder did it again in the 70th minute, hitting an even more incredible set-piece into the top right corner and giving Courtois no chance. Merino rounded off the scoring five minutes later to give Arteta’s side a massive lead ahead of the second leg at the Bernabeu next week.
