Breaking: Uneasy calm as protest hits Kano over disbanded emirate

Some residents of Kano have commenced protest in the ancient city over the the disbanded emirate.
The protest came after the dethroned Emir vacated the palace quietly at midnight on Thursday.
The town remained calm, with armed security personnel maintaining order and no signs of violence or resistance.
However, resident Abubakar Shuaibu noted that some community members were displeased with the changes.
Residents are seen carrying placards and chanting slogans critical of the government, the protesters accused the administration of political motives behind the emirate’s dissolution.
