Breaking: UNIZIK expels student after assaulting lecturer

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has expelled a student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, over an alleged assault on a lecturer from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.
A letter dated February 13, 2025, and signed by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Victor I. Modebelu, confirmed that the university’s Student Disciplinary Committee found Precious guilty of gross misconduct, violating the institution’s disciplinary regulations, particularly Regulation 4 (SDR).
The incident, which reportedly stemmed from a confrontation over a TikTok video, involved Precious allegedly attacking Dr. Chukwudi Okoye after he interrupted her while filming on campus. The altercation sparked outrage, with many calling for disciplinary action.
Following the university’s decision, Precious has been directed to vacate the premises immediately and return any school property in her possession.
