Canadian senator backs Natasha amid probe


Canadian Senator Salma Ataullahjan has publicly expressed support for Nigerian lawmaker Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was recently suspended from the Senate following her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was handed a six-month suspension on Thursday after the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions found her in violation of Senate rules. The decision has sparked widespread debate, with many questioning the handling of her allegations against Akpabio.
Amid the controversy, Senator Ataullahjan took to social media to encourage Akpoti-Uduaghan, praising her courage for speaking out against sexual harassment.
“Stay strong, Natasha. @NatashaAkpoti Your bravery for speaking out against sexual harassment is a powerful reminder that we must all continue to fight for a safer, more respectful world for everyone. #JusticeForNatasha,” the Canadian lawmaker wrote.
