Dalot backs Amorim to lead Man Utd revival

Diogo Dalot has expressed unwavering support for Ruben Amorim, insisting the Portuguese manager is the perfect figure to guide Manchester United through their current turmoil and steer them towards future success.
Despite United enduring their worst season in over half a century—culminating in a disappointing 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final in Bilbao—Dalot believes Amorim is laying the right foundations at Old Trafford.
In the aftermath, Amorim admitted he would walk away from the role without hesitation or compensation if both the club hierarchy and the supporters felt he had lost their trust. Nevertheless, Dalot remains convinced the dressing room is behind the manager.
“I’m completely confident that he’s the right man for this club,” he said. “We see his vision every single day—the standards he holds us to, his expectations for the team, and the way he engages with both the players and the coaching staff. He’s got a clear understanding of what Manchester United should represent.”
“A lot is changing around us, but ultimately, it comes down to what we deliver on the pitch. We can’t look elsewhere for accountability—it’s on us to perform and get results. This season hasn’t reflected what this club stands for, and we know we’ve let a lot of people down.
Dalot acknowledged that the squad must take collective responsibility for a campaign that fell far short of expectations. “Now it’s time to reflect, regroup, and ensure we return stronger.”
With the summer ahead and a period of reset in motion, the player’s words signal hope that, under Amorim’s guidance, United may soon rediscover the standards that once made them a dominant force.
