Deji Adeyanju questions Ododo’s loyalty to Yahaya Bello

Lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has created a fresh debate over Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo’s close ties with his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, questioning when Ododo will focus on serving the people rather than acting as Bello’s “errand boy.”
Adeyanju made the remarks in a Facebook post, where he shared a photo of Ododo and Bello, both dressed in white attire, standing side by side.
The activist’s post read:
“When will Governor Ododo stop the slavery and errand boy duties to Bello so that he can begin to work for the people of our state?”
Discovererngr.com reports that since assuming office, Governor Ododo has frequently been seen alongside Bello, fueling speculation that the former governor still wields significant influence over his administration.
The controversy deepened when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) declared Bello wanted over alleged financial misconduct. Reports surfaced claiming that Ododo visited Bello’s residence in Abuja and allegedly helped him evade arrest. However, after months of speculation, Bello later made himself available to the EFCC for questioning.
Adeyanju’s criticism echoes growing concerns among Kogi residents and political observers who believe Ododo should assert his independence and focus on governance rather than maintaining loyalty to his predecessor.
