Easter: NSCDC assures hitch-free celebration, deploys massive operatives nationwide

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has ordered massive deployment of tactical operatives across board consequent on the declaration of Friday 18th and Monday 21st April as Easter holidays by the Federal Government.
In a statement released Friday in Abuja by the Corps spokesman,
CSC Afolabi Babawale, Dr Audi directed all Zonal Commanders and Commandants of the 36 States and FCT to massively mobilise, deploy tactically and monitor the festive season to ensure a hitch-free Easter celebration.
“All Zonal Commanders, State Commandants, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers and Component Commanders are to intensify constant patrol and Intelligence gathering for effective security cover”.
The NSCDC helmsman expressed optimism in the conduct of the personnel in carrying out the directive while emphasising the need for enforcement before, during and after the festivity.
He called on all officers to perform assigned duties in synergy with sister security agencies noting that suspected black spots and strange movements should be monitored and appropriate security measures taken to curb any threat.
Audi also warned criminal minded persons to steer clear of CNAI, warning that the NSCDC will not allow saboteurs to unleash terror on the good and law abiding people of the nation.
On the deployment strategy, he hinted that operatives in Anti-vandal Unit, Special Intelligence Squad, Mining Marshal, Female Special Force, Special Weapon and Tactics, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation, Crack Squad, Rapid Response Squad, Special Force as well as Marine Marshal have been fully briefed on the modus operandi and placed on Red alert to respond swiftly in order to avert economic sabotage and any act of insecurity.
“The CG on behalf of officers and men of the NSCDC extends felicitation to Christians in Nigeria and diaspora on the completion of Lent fasting in commemoration of the death, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ; he called all Christian faithful to emulate the exemplary life of Christ and embrace their neighbours in Unity and Love wishing them all a Happy Easter celebration.”
