EPL: Arsenal star, Havertz shares message after surgery

Kai Havertz has shared a message to Arsenal fans after successfully undergoing surgery on Sunday.
Havertz will now begin a recovery process that will keep him away from action for the remainder of the season.
The 25-year-old German forward suffered a hamstring injury during the club’s warm-weather training camp in Dubai, with Arsenal issuing a statement confirming that the player would miss the remainder of the season.
Having completed surgery on Sunday morning, Havertz is now ready to begin his rehabilitation process but insisted that he will do what he can from the sidelines to aid the team’s ambitions, as he shared a message to his supporters on Instagram.
“The last few days have been tough to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday was a good day. A successful op and a win,” he wrote Thanks for all the messages of support over the last few days, it’s really helped. I’m now focused on my journey to full fitness and giving all the support I can give to the team in the background.”
Without Havertz, who joined Jesus, Saka and Martinelli in the Gunners’ injury list, Arteta faces a huge headache in the club’s bid to challenge leaders Liverpool in the Premier League title race. The Spaniard was forced to call upon midfielder Merino to beat Leicester on Saturday after Nwaneri, Trossard and Sterling struggled to deliver upfront.
