Excursion turns tragic as school bus crashes in Ibadan

A tragic accident occurred on Friday morning in Ibadan, Oyo State, when a school bus transporting students from Zenith Group of School, Akeyo, Muslim area, for an excursion crashed along Akala Expressway.
The lone accident, reportedly caused by brake failure, left at least three teachers and six pupils seriously injured. The bus, carrying over 20 students, tumbled and veered off the road while heading to the Railway Station in Omi, Ibadan. According to one of the pupils, the school owner was also onboard when the crash happened.
Emergency responders, including operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), swiftly arrived at the scene to assist the victims. The injured were rushed to a hospital for urgent medical attention, while the remaining students were taken to the Kuola Divisional Headquarters of the Nigerian Police for safety.
