The controversy surrounding controversial singer Speed Darlington has taken a new turn as Isaac Fayose, younger brother to former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has weighed in, revealing that the alleged victim and her mother are now ready to take legal action.

Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, created widespread outrage after a disturbing video surfaced online in which he claimed to have had an intimate encounter with a 15-year-old girl. The statement triggered a flurry of condemnation on social media from different influencers including Verydarkman, with many Nigerians calling for his immediate arrest. Although he later retracted the statement, claiming it was meant as a joke, the backlash has not subsided.

In a new video shared online, Isaac Fayose did not mince words in rebuking Speed Darlington’s behavior. He described the singer’s remarks as reckless and irresponsible, warning him against making such dangerous jokes in the future.

Fayose further revealed that the girl allegedly mentioned by Speed Darlington and her mother have now stepped forward and are prepared to visit the police station to file an official statement regarding the incident.

“Enough is enough,” Fayose said. “You don’t joke about defiling a minor. It is not funny, and it is not entertainment. The girl and her mother are ready. They will be at the police station today.”

The development adds further weight to the calls for authorities to take the matter seriously, especially as Speed Darlington’s initial statement — prank or not — is seen by many as a trigger for greater accountability in Nigeria’s digital space.

As of the time of filing this report, Speed Darlington has yet to respond to Fayose’s latest comments, and the police are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
