Fayose weighs in on Asake-father controversy

Businessman Isaac Fayose has joined the growing conversation surrounding Afrobeats star Asake and his father, Fatai Odunsin, offering financial assistance amid the ongoing family dispute.
The controversy erupted after a viral video showed Asake’s father, who is battling a stroke, accusing his son of neglect. In response, the singer defended himself, stating that no matter how much he did for his father, it was never enough.
Weighing in on the situation, Fayose advised Asake to handle the matter with compassion, urging men to prepare for old age instead of relying solely on their children. He noted that fathers are often left to fend for themselves, especially when mothers influence their children’s perception of them.
“For Asake and his father, the lesson here is that once you have children, you must work hard to secure your future. Children naturally gravitate towards their mothers, leaving fathers to navigate old age alone. If you’re fortunate to have a good mother who advocates for you, consider yourself lucky. Asake, set aside whatever your mother may have said and take care of your father. You can only have one father, so temper justice with mercy,” Fayose advised.
As a show of support, Fayose pledged to send N500,000 to Asake’s father and requested his account details. Sharing the video online, he wrote:
“Please, I need @asakemusic’s father’s account number so I can send him 500K. The man is not looking too good . Man no be God.”
His gesture has stirred widespread reactions, with many urging Asake to reconcile with his father and put family differences aside.
