Fire razes popular Port Harcourt electronics store

A massive fire broke out at an electronics store in Port Harcourt on Sunday, causing widespread destruction and chaos as locals rushed to battle the flames and contain the inferno.
The incident happened around 12:30 PM at the LG showroom and warehouse located at Rumuosi Junction along the Rumuokoro-Choba axis of the East-West Road.
According to eyewitnesses, a power surge sparked the fire, which rapidly engulfed the single-story building and imperiled adjacent structures.
The blaze posed a significant threat of a domino effect, as the building is sandwiched between a church and a multi-story building, raising concerns of a potential fire spread.
Despite the valiant efforts of local residents to extinguish the fire, as of 1 PM, there was a conspicuous absence of firefighters and security personnel, leaving the area vulnerable to potential looting and failing to provide much-needed support to combat the blaze.
