Former US president dies

Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States and a global symbol of humanitarianism, passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100.

He died peacefully at his residence in Plains, Georgia, where he had been in hospice care since February 2023.

As the longest-living U.S. president, Carter was widely respected for his unwavering dedication to peace, human rights, and humanitarian causes.
