Gombe: Akko LG seeks public input for 2025 budget


As Gombe State prepares to draft its budget for the 2025 fiscal year, Akko local government area of the state under the chairmanship of Mohammed Danladi Adamu, has commenced the collation of demands from its people for possible inclusion in the budget.
The council organised a town hall meeting for stakeholders drawn from the 11 wards and three emirates in the local government.
Our correspondent reports that the stakeholders include representatives of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), youth and women groups, traditional and religious leaders, and NGO’s.
In his contribution at the meeting, the chairman of the Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (ANGO) in the state, Idris Lawanti, said lack of inputs from the public affects its impacts, lauding the state for allowing citizens’ now to provide their inputs in budgets.
He thanked the USAID’ ‘State-to-State’ for advocating the citizens oriented budget and the Gombe State Government for keying into the initiative.
This is even as he urged the public to ensure strict monitoring of projects captured in the budget.
In his goodwill message, the Director of Budget in the State ministry of budget and planning, Mohammed Adamu, emphasised that Gombe State has keyed into the world standard of budgeting which is citizens centred.
