GOV. Ododo assures support for families of fallen heros

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has assured of total support for families of the nation’s fallen heroes for their bravery and patriotism.
Governor Ododo gave the assurance at a ceremony to mark the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day
at the World War Cenotaph in Lokoja.
Governor Ododo acknowledged the significance of Armed Forces Remembrance Day, describing it as a moment to remember and deeply reflect on the contributions of the armed forces to nation building.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting families of the fallen heroes and providing for veterans who served Nigeria with distinction.
The Governor also announced the immediate enrollment of widows and children of the falling heroes into the free health insurance coverage under the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme.
He pledged his continued support to the injured officers and men of the armed forces in Kogi State and called for unity towards building a nation that is worthy of their sacrifices.
Governor Ododo commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing peace and security of the nation as embodied in the renewed hope agenda of his administration .
The event featured the traditional wreath-laying ceremony, where Governor Ododo, alongside military commanders, traditional rulers and representatives of army veterans paid tributes to the fallen heroes.
Meanwhile, some residents at the ceremony expressed gratitude to the armed forces and urged continuous support for their families and others still in service.
