The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the commencement of its recruitment exercise for 2025, inviting applications for positions in the Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres.
This initiative follows the recent approval to onboard 3,927 officers as part of efforts to strengthen trade facilitation and contribute to the country’s economic recovery.
In a statement released on Friday, the NCS emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free and transparent. The agency warned the public to beware of fraudsters seeking to exploit the exercise for financial gain.
“Our recruitment process is completely FREE and FAIR. We DO NOT charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process. If anyone demands payment, they are scammers,” the NCS cautioned.
Eligibility Requirements
The NCS outlined the following general criteria for all applicants:
Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
Must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
Must have no criminal record or ongoing investigation.
Academic Qualifications by Cadre
Applicants must meet the following educational qualifications based on their chosen cadre:
1. Superintendent Cadre (Senior Level)
A university degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution.
NYSC discharge certificate or exemption certificate.
2. Inspectorate Cadre (Mid-Level)
National Diploma (ND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from an accredited institution.
3. Customs Assistant Cadre (Entry-Level)
O’Level certificate (WAEC or NECO).
Additionally, all applicants must be physically and mentally fit and will be required to submit evidence of medical fitness from a government-recognized hospital.
