If you ‘Balablu’ me, I ‘OBJ’ you, by Asaju Tunde

If you don’t understand politics, you’d be damned by it. It is obvious that Balablu finds time to heckle those who heckle him. While Professor Wole Soyinka deserves more than a road named after him, the recent recognition and his moves with the current occupant of Arsehole, sorry I mean, arsehole, sorry Aso Rock is curious.
We all know the feud between the Wizard of Ota, Ọ̀gbẹ́ni Olusegun Obasanjo and his quondam street cousin, our own WS. We also know that Obj does not like Tilumbu! During the campaigns Obj refused to endorse Balablu…its a long tale. But you might remember how the creation of local governments made Obj withhold Governor Tilumbu’s Lagos state allocation for a long time. A ó mọ ohun tí wọn rà l’ọ́wọ́ ara wọn, ti wọn ò sanwó.
But in fairness, Tinubu sought to bury the hatchet with his early visit to Obj in his farm in Ota. When Obj made it clear he would not be supporting him, Tilumbu became a friend of Ogun Statem having installed the Eléyìí of Ogun. He also befriended the most powerful traditional ruler in Ogun State to boost that alliance and kicked off his campaigns from there. It was like kicking dust in Obj’s face and the agbaya does not like being treated in his own coin.
Obj, like Tinubu does not forgive easily. Obj did not hide the fact that he would NOT be supporting his ‘kinsman’ when he openly endorsed Obi.
It is therefore curious how Soyinka, a critic of virtually every government since independence pitched tent with this Tartuffe of Chicago. Our laureatte has turned a blind eye to all the stories about the candidate with Oluwole degrees and questionable origin and openly identifies with him. Abi?
So, you would also recall that the imperial anthem – Nigeria we wail, sorry, wail, I mean hail thee lately returned to reckoning. Have you asked yourself what was the significance of that? Well, the older one – Arise o kọ as my kid would say back then was endorsed by the military regime of the foe – Obasanjo! So, you can see why Tilumbu considers reversing Obj’s footsteps as the best decision he’s ever made. We might have a totally different pledge with time.
Now, Obj has laced his war boots and continued his tour of ‘friendly governments’ where he has been lugging pot shots at the regime in Arsehole…sorry, Aso Rock. He just left Sokoto where he threw a few shots and got a chieftaincy to boot. I won’t even be surprised if the latest troubles of Nasir el-Rufai has something to do with having been a former close confidant of Obj. Its politics people.
I am enjoying the entire power show, apologies to Abami Eda himself. If you take governance seriously with clowns like these in government, then you deserve your headache.
So…is the price of tomatoes within your reach or will you need a loan to keep feeding.
Muna gaisuwa yar uwa da abokin arziki, da fata se dáadáa lẹ wà!
