Inuwa appoints 2 new perm sec

Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved the appointment of two new permanent secretaries to enhance productivity and foster excellence in the civil service.
The Governor’s approval was conveyed by the Head of Civil Service, Alh. Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, in a statement on Thursday.
Those appointed are Professor Mu’azu Usman Shehu and Muhammad Bello Abubakar Kumo.
Mu’azu Shehu, a professor of Environmental Sociology, hails from Gombe local government area. He obtained B.Sc Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2001. He joined the Gombe State University Service in 2005 as Graduate Assistant and rose through the ranks to become a professor. His notable roles include Carson Fellow at the Rachel Carson Centre for Environment and Society, University of Munich, Germany, his appointment by Governor Inuwa Yahaya as Programme Coordinator, Gombe Goes Green (3G) in 2019 and later as Director-General, Research and Documentation in the Governor’s office, a post he has been occupying to date.
Muhammad Bello Kumo hails from Akko Local Government Area. He obtained B.Tech Agric Economic and Extension from Federal University of Technology, Yola Adamawa State. He joined the service of the defunct Bank of the North in 1999 and rose to the rank of Marketing Officer/Bank Credit Coordinator, Sokoto Regional Office in 2001. He later joined the service of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigerla as Head of Administration and Coordination Unit at the FCT and rose through the ranks to become Branch Manager/ Katsina State Controller and Assistant General Manager, a post he held until this appointment.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed confidence in the capacity of the new appointees to bring their collective efforts and contribute to the growth and development of Gombe state while discharging their new roles.
