Inuwa Yahaya attends 10th North East Governors’ Forum meeting in Bauchi


Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is currently in Bauchi, participating in the 10th North East Governors’ Forum (NEGF) meeting alongside his colleagues from the subregion.
The meeting, chaired by Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, is a platform for the NE Governors to exchange views on strategies and share best practices to address the pressing issues facing the North East as well as improve the quality of life for residents of the zone.
In his opening remarks, Governor Zulum reiterated the commitment of the North East Governors to tackle the subregion’s challenges.
He emphasized the importance of addressing insecurity, educational backwardness, and the deficit in social amenities, while also seeking ways to facilitate socio-economic development across the North East.
The host Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, highlighted the significance of the frequent NEGF meetings, which he noted demonstrate the governors’ commitment to fostering zonal unity and resolving the subregion’s challenges.
Governor Mohammed expressed the governors’ collective resolve to continue to honour the trust placed in them by the electorate in their respective states.
A communique is expected at the end of the meeting.
During the opening ceremony, the Governors used the occasion to unveil the NACCIMA 2024 North East Joint Trade Fair Prospectus ahead of the the commencement of the flag-off of trade fair by Vice President Kashim Shettima tomorrow at the IBB Square in Bauchi.
