JCI Aberdeen appoints Oladapo Richards as new president

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Aberdeen, Scotland has appointed Oladapo Richards as its new President for year 2025.
Oladapo also joins the JCI Scotland 2025 National Executives led by National President Laird Faichney-Smith.
Oladapo Richards, a Product Manger by profession with extensive experience product management, has been an active member of JCI Aberdeen since 2023.
Before the announcement, he was strategic Director for the 2024 Board of JCI, demonstrating a passion for leadership development and community engagement.
JCI Aberdeen, in its statement, stated that the appointment marks an prospective new chapter for the organization as it continues to empower young leaders and foster positive change in the local community and beyond.
Speaking about his new role, Oladapo said: “I look forward to building on the incredible work of my predecessors and collaborating with our dynamic team of members to create impactful projects, foster professional growth, and strengthen our community connections. Together, we will continue to inspire young leaders to make a difference. It is an honour to serve as President of JCI Aberdeen for 2025.”
JCI Aberdeen, is part of the global JCI network, which provides young professionals aged 18 to 40 with opportunities to develop leadership skills, network with like-minded individuals, and create meaningful change in their communities.
While JCI Aberdeen was established in 1944, and the international organisation, Junior Chamber International (JCI), was founded in 1915.
The organization is known for its innovative programs and impactful initiatives that address local and global challenges.
Outgoing President, Teslim Oderinu expressed confidence in the new leadership, stating: “I am thrilled to pass the baton to Oladapo, whose vision and dedication will undoubtedly take JCI Aberdeen to new heights.
“It has been a privilege to serve this incredible organization, and I am excited to see what the future holds under Oladapo’s leadership.”
Under Dapo’s presidency, JCI Aberdeen aims to expand its outreach programs, introduce new initiatives focused on professional development, and strengthen partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
Meanwhile, the JCI Scotland 77th Annual General Meeting gave the 2024 National Executives and Local Organisations the opportunity to come together for one last time this year to celebrate collective achievements and reflect on the lessons that 2024 gave.
They also witnessed the ‘Passing of the Chain’ from the capable hands of 77th National President, Isabel Simon, to the promising leadership of the 78th National President, Laird Faichney-Smith.
