Man sacked over support for Tinubu amid economic crisis

A Nigerian man has alleged that he was dismissed from his job due to his support for President Bola Tinubu amidst the ongoing economic challenges in the country.

The man, who shared his experience on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), claimed that his employer, who he described as being “fully Atikulated” (a term for supporters of Atiku Abubakar), targeted him over his political stance.

In his initial post, he expressed concerns about his job security, hinting at a brewing conflict with his boss. He wrote:

“Dear Bola Tinubu Supporters The CEO of our company is fully Atikulated They’re trying to fire me from my job because I support Bola Tinubu. If it’s a fight they want, it’s a fight they will get. If you see this tweet, pray for Dawakiii.”

Hours later, he returned with an update, confirming that his fears had materialized. According to him, he was summoned for a mandatory meeting at 11:30 am, where his employer terminated his employment without prior notice.

“Lost my job today because I support Bola Tinubu. I’ve been with the company for over 5.5 years, and this is one of the worst things that can happen to a person,” he lamented.
