Man stabs caretaker over witchcraft

A man simply identified as Nnanna, has allegedly attacked his 65-year-old caretaker, Mr. Monday, accusing him of witchcraft.
The disturbing incident took place on Wednesday at 37 Okwelle Street, Mile 2 Diobu, in the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Eyewitnesses report that Nnanna stabbed Mr. Monday in the neck and head, claiming the elderly caretaker was responsible for his misfortunes. According to Mr. Monday, the altercation began the night before when he had asked Nnanna to move aside while they were clearing sand. Offended, Nnanna accused Mr. Monday of being a “wizard” and threatened to kill him.
“He went and picked up a bottle, smashed it, and stabbed me on the neck Tuesday night,” Mr. Monday recalled. “Then, early Wednesday morning, he barged into my house and stabbed me on the head.”
Following the assault, Nnanna reportedly fled the scene and has not yet been apprehended. The incident has since been reported to the Azikiwe Police Division, which has launched an investigation. Mr. Monday, still recovering from his injuries, expressed fear for his life, saying he hopes justice will be served.
