Maulud: NUJ urges unity, peaceful coexistence

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) deputy national president Alhassan Yahaya, has rejoiced with the Muslims across the country as they celebrate Maulud Nabiyy 2024, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a press release he issued on Sunday, Yahaya, extended heartfelt felicitations to all Muslim journalists and the entire Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, asking them to emulate Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) virtues of unity, peace, compassion, and forgiveness.
According to Yahaya, these values are crucial for harmonious coexistence among Nigerians, stressing the need for Muslims to intensify supplications for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and progress as they celebrate.
The NUJ deputy president also charged journalists to continue promoting unity, peace, and national cohesion through their reportage, describing their role in shaping public discourse and fostering harmony as invaluable.
Yahaya reiterated the need for Nigerians to eschew divisive tendencies and strive for peaceful coexistence, reaffirming the NUJ’s commitment to Nigeria’s unity and progress.
“I also urge all Nigerians, particularly Muslims, to intensify supplications for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and progress while marking this festival. Let us include our beloved country in our prayers, seeking divine guidance and intervention to overcome our challenges.”, he said.
