NIS beefs up security at boarders ahead of planned protest

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has directed its officers to intensify surveillance and be extra vigilant at the country’s borders due to the planned nationwide protest by some groups.
The Comptroller General of Immigration Service, KN Nandap, gave the directive to Zonal Heads, State Command Comptrollers, and Divisional Immigration Officers (DIOS) across the country. She tasked officers, especially Heads of Border Commands, to ensure that no foreign element takes advantage of the protest to destabilize the country.
Nandap also directed the temporary suspension of all Leave applications and charged officers to exercise utmost professionalism and patriotism in the discharge of their duties during and after the protest. She emphasized that Nigeria is the only country they have as their own.
The Comptroller General assured all Nigerians of the Service’s preparedness to safeguard the nation’s borders and enhance national security.
This move is aimed at preventing any potential security breaches and ensuring the safety of Nigerians during the planned protest.
