Obaseki calls for continued support for Okpebholo

As he prepares to step down, outgoing Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has called on Edo residents to extend the same cooperation and support to Governor-elect Senator Monday Okpebholo that they have shown to his administration over the past eight years.
Obaseki made this appeal during a thanksgiving service and the dedication of the newly refurbished Government House Chapel.
While addressing the congregation, Governor Obaseki expressed his deep gratitude for the progress achieved in Edo State during his tenure and assured citizens of his ongoing commitment to the state, saying, “Though I am leaving as governor, I am not leaving Edo State.”
In his remarks, Obaseki charged the people of Edo to back Okpebholo’s incoming administration with the same spirit of partnership. “As we transition to a new administration, I urge every one of you, in the name of God, to extend the same level of cooperation and support to the incoming administration as you have to mine,” he said. “Let us continue to work together towards a brighter future for Edo State and Nigeria.”
Obaseki also emphasized the chapel’s dedication as a lasting symbol of faith and progress for Edo State. “The chapel will stand as a testimony to the enduring spirit of the Edo people and the achievements yet to come,” he added.
Reflecting on his tenure, Obaseki thanked the people of Edo for their prayers, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to the state’s progress. “To the people of Edo State, I extend my gratitude for your partnership. Your trust and encouragement have fueled our passion to deliver impactful projects and reforms that have transformed our state,” he noted.
Governor Obaseki’s tenure comes to a close with this heartfelt message, urging Edo residents to stay united as the state moves forward under new leadership.
