Oborevwori sacks information commissioner

Delta State Governor, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, sacked Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza of his duties as Commissioner for Information.
Though the reasons behind Osuoza’s dismissal remain undisclosed, sources indicated that alleged concerns over his performance may have influenced the decision.
In the interim, the Governor has directed Charles Aniagwu, the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads), to oversee the Ministry of Information alongside his current portfolio.
Aniagwu, who brings years of experience from his tenure as Chief Press Secretary and Commissioner for Information under former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, is expected to resume his dual responsibilities on Monday.
Dr. Fred Latimor Oghenesivbe, Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communication, confirmed that Osuoza had been briefed on the development and stated that an official announcement from the Governor would soon follow.
Political observers suggest the reshuffle reflects Governor Oborevwori’s drive to enhance the efficiency of his administration and address lingering challenges within key ministries. The move has sparked conversations within Delta State’s political circles, with many anticipating further adjustments in the Governor’s team.
Aniagwu’s appointment is seen as a strategic choice, given his extensive experience and familiarity with the workings of the Ministry of Information. His dual role is expected to streamline communication strategies while maintaining progress on rural road projects across the state.
