Osimhen, Lookman absent as Chelle announces Super Eagles squad

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has announced Super Eagles squad ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming international fixtures.
The coach left out star forwards Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman from the team to face Ghana in the Unity Cup and Russia in a subsequent friendly.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the squad list on Wednesday afternoon, sparking reactions from fans and pundits alike. While the omission of Osimhen and Lookman raises eyebrows, the squad features the return of some familiar faces.
Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is back in the team, along with midfield enforcer Frank Onyeka. Also making a comeback are Kelechi Iheanacho and veteran forward Ahmed Musa, who will wear the captain’s armband once again.
