Oyo govt settles poisoned cow crisis in Ido LGA

Oyo State government on Thursday
declared that the tension over the death of some grazing cows, allegedly poisoned in Ologolo, Alafara area in Ido local government area of the State is now under control.
The state Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade stated this in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan
Prince Oyelade maintained that the notice was reported to the state government by residents of the area and that relevant authorities promptly sprung into action to douse the tension in the area to prevent any form of communal clash between herdsmen and residents of the community.
Assuring the people of the state of government commitment to peaceful coexistence and safety of lives and property of its people, the Commissioner commended the efforts of the Amotekun Corps, Operation Burst, and the Nigeria Police Force throughout the period of the incident.
Prince Oyelade stressed that the Police have already engaged Fulani leaders and Yoruba community in the area and that the security operatives are on vigilant alert 24 hours of the day to maintain law and order.
The Commissioner then urged residents of the community to continue with their daily engagements without fear or worry as the situation is under control.
