PDP Governors’ Forum denies supporting El-Rufai/Obi 2027 ticket, reaffirms commitment to party principles

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum has issued a statement denying allegations that five PDP governors are supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket of Nasir El-Rufai and Peter Obi in the 2027 election.
The forum, led by Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, described the allegations as “unpleasant and provoking publications and rumors” peddled by negative forces and their agents.
They accused these agents of trying to create a one-party system, split the opposition, and cripple democratic institutions and values.
The PDP Governors’ Forum reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s principles, including equity, social justice, and accountability.
They pledged to support whoever emerges as the party’s flag-bearer in the 2027 presidential election.
This statement comes amid reports of divisions within the PDP, with some governors rumored to be supporting different presidential aspirants.
However, the forum’s statement aims to dispel these rumors and reassure party members of their commitment to unity and democratic values.
