Police intensify search for bandits after deadly Katsina incident

The Katsina State Police Command has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to tracking down and apprehending the perpetrators responsible for the heinous murder of 26 people in the state.
According to the police command, on June 9, 2024, armed bandits carried out simultaneous attacks on two villages in Kankara Local Government Area, Katsina State – Gidan Tofa and Dan Nakwabo.
The brutal attack claimed the lives of 20 innocent civilians, left two others injured, and also targeted a patrol team, resulting in the tragic loss of four police officers and two members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps.
In an interview, State Police Public Relations Officer Abubakar Aliyu reaffirmed the command’s steadfast commitment to bringing the culprits behind this heinous attack to justice.
Despite no arrests having been made, and assured the public that the police are working diligently to apprehend the perpetrators.
He said, “We are still on it. No arrest made yet. We are intensifying efforts to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators no matter how long it is. We are going to pursue every lead to ensure there is an arrest.”
