Protesters begin processions in Lagos admist tight security

While the major Lagos- Ikorodu road in Ikorodu was free of protest this morning, and vehicular movements were free, protesters were already gathering in Ikeja to hit the streets.
In Ikeja under bridge, close to the popular Computer Village, protesters were moving in their hundreds, singing series of protest songs, carrying play cards of different inscriptions.
While a few of them are claiming to be moving to the Lagos State Secretariat at Alausa, other were seeing discussing on how to move enmass to Moshood Abiola Park at Ojota to assemble for the protest.
A leader of the group at the Ikeja under bridge, Comrade Deklan, said the protest was going to hold despite efforts by the Lagos state government to stop it.
He said, ” you can’t hold the people back from protesting. People don’t have houses where they can sleep. We sleep under the bridges in Lagos. We are just waking up from under bridges and that’s why we are just gathering to protest”.
He added that the Lagos government has ordered the protest is held at the park in Ojota, but before people can trek to the Ojota park, we need a pace to gather and that’s why we are here now gatherings”.
