PSC appoints new Lagos Police Commissioner

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially appointed Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command.
Before his latest appointment, CP Jimoh served as the Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority, Eastern Ports. The Kwara State-born officer has had an extensive career in law enforcement, previously holding roles such as Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Airport Police, DCP Finance and Administration, and DCP General Investigation.
Jimoh’s professional experience is backed by numerous international and local training programs. He has undergone specialized training in combat operations at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri, participated in the African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan, and attended counter-terrorism training on weapons of mass destruction at the First Responder Training Institute in the United States.
Additionally, he has been trained in social construction and management reform at the China Executive Leadership Academy, maritime rescue operations at the China Maritime Academy, and anti-hijacking techniques at Yunnan Police College in China. He also trained at the Police Training Institute in Seoul, South Korea.
CP Jimoh is a decorated officer, having received the prestigious Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year, in recognition of his contributions to the development of public relations within the Nigeria Police Force.
His appointment was ratified by the PSC after he appeared before a panel led by the Commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd.), alongside Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje (rtd.), a former Supreme Court Justice, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu, the Honourable Commissioner representing the police.
With his wealth of experience, CP Jimoh is expected to bring a new approach to policing in Lagos, one of Nigeria’s most dynamic and challenging security landscapes.
