Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has expressed unwavering confidence in the club’s ability to secure silverware soon, despite their 2024/25 campaign now hinging solely on Champions League success with Real Madrid standing in their way.

Arsenal’s Spanish goalkeeper David Raya is optimistic about the Gunners’ prospects of success this season, despite the team’s disappointing performances in domestic cup competitions and their 12-point deficit in the Premier League title race.

Talking to Sky Sports, Raya insisted that winning silverware is “only a matter of time” for Arsenal, highlighting the club’s positive trajectory. “It is a great place to be,” Raya stated, praising the team’s quality and direction.

The goalkeeper reflected on Arsenal’s Champions League campaign last season, noting how close they came to reaching the semi-finals by nearly defeating Bayern Munich.

Raya emphasised the value of the experience gained by the squad in Europe’s elite competition, with many players participating for the first time.

Looking ahead to their upcoming quarter-final clash with Real Madrid, Raya acknowledged the magnitude of the challenge but expressed excitement at the prospect of facing the Spanish giants.

“We have a big challenge ahead playing Real Madrid. It is the one you really wanted to play when you were young,” Raya added.
