Real Madrid are targeting Nico Williams. According to ‘MARCA’, the Athletic Club winger’s profile is liked at Valdebebas and the club would have to pay his termination clause: the same 58 million euros they spent on Dean Huijsen.

Real Madrid are keen to steal the limelight in the summer transfer window. After their move for Dean Huijsen, the name that has come to the forefront is that of an old Barcelona target that did not come to fruition: Nico Williams.

According to what ‘MARCA’ published on Tuesday, the youngest of the Athletic Club brothers is liked at Real Madrid because of the characteristics he can offer. The media impact and sporting projection would be differential elements that would make this operation a decisive one.

Real Madrid’s way to sign Nico Williams is through the release clause agreed with the San Mames club. Coincidentally, the same price as Dean Huijsen: 58 million euros. It would mean another swoop and a further nationalisation of the squad.

The player is currently recovering from physical problems caused by pubalgia. Athletic Club’s No 10 has not played in an official match since the tragic 3-0 defeat by Manchester United in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals. He has 11 goals to his name.

A rumour that stems from Chelsea’s interest in Rodrygo Goes. The Brazilian winger has a contract until 2028, but the club’s relationship with the No 11 is not going through its best moment. The summer will once again be hectic in terms of arrivals at Real.

The offensive versatility of Nico Williams could be an advantage for Real Madrid and even a request for Xabi Alonso, whose official signing is only a matter of time. Florentino Perez wants to move the pieces on the board again and the Athletic Club star could be his ace up his sleeve.
