“Reshuffle your cabinet now”— Elmikado urges Tinubu ahead of second year in office

As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration approaches its two-year milestone on May 29, 2025, growing public discontent has triggered renewed calls for a major cabinet shake-up.
Leading the chorus is political commentator and activist, Comrade Elmikado Drixxo, who has passionately urged the President to urgently rejig his cabinet for the sake of national interest and public trust.
In a strongly-worded statement, Comrade Drixxo described the current state of the nation as one of economic hardship, insecurity, corruption, and rising hopelessness, which he believes have left many Nigerians disillusioned.
“The call for President Tinubu to reshuffle his cabinet has reached a crescendo,” Drixxo declared. “The present economic crunch, coupled with social deprivation and insecurity, has left the masses frustrated. The structure in place is simply not delivering the dividends of democracy the people voted for.”
He warned that the patience of Nigerians is wearing thin, and noted that some ministers and agency heads have become liabilities rather than assets to the administration.
“Mr. President, many of your appointees are sycophants, megalomaniacs, and grossly incapable of meeting their mandates. The time to fire non-performing ministers is now. Nigerians voted for you—not these individuals—who have turned themselves into untouchable masters instead of servants of the people,” he emphasized.
Drixxo also urged President Tinubu to replicate the surprise approach used in the recent sacking of NNPC boss Mele Kyari, and extend it to other non-performing officials in his administration.
“There are deadwoods in this government draining our scarce national resources without delivering commensurate results. It is time to act decisively and breathe new life into your administration,” he added.
While acknowledging the President’s current trip to France, Drixxo encouraged him to use the time abroad to reflect, reassess, and return with a renewed vision that aligns with the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
He concluded with a patriotic appeal: “Mr. President, don’t let the Buhari-era laissez-faire style cripple your government. There are brilliant Nigerians ready to serve. Act now—posterity will judge your boldness or silence.”
