Rivers caretaker chairman appoints 600 aides

Darlington Orji, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Council, made a massive appointment of 600 individuals as Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, and Executive Assistants, a move aimed at strengthening Governor Fubara’s political structure amid the ongoing rivalry with Minister Nyesom Wike.
Orji made the appointments despite being barred from entering the Council Secretariat.
In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Orji said, “I got to the Ikwerre Local Government Council and saw that it is being barricaded by security agents – the police, to be precise. They said they were acting on the orders of the Inspector General of Police.”
The rivalry between the two former political allies is becoming increasingly complex, with new developments emerging daily, and observers are eagerly anticipating the next move from the key players in this political showdown.
