Ronaldo, Ramos pay tribute to Modric

Luka Modric has confirmed he will leave Real Madrid following the Club World Cup, bringing to an end a glittering 14-year spell at the Bernabeu.
The Croatian’s farewell prompted swift and emotional reactions from former teammates Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco and Sergio Ramos.
The three, who shared countless triumphs alongside Modric during one of the most successful eras in Real Madrid’s history, took to social media to honour the midfield maestro.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who lifted four Champions League titles alongside Modric, kept it simple and sincere: “Thank you for everything, Luka! It was an honour to share so many great moments with you at the club. Wishing you all the best for what comes next!”
Isco, another long-time teammate, highlighted Modric’s character and the universal admiration he commands: “To be loved by everyone is one of the hardest things to achieve — and you’ve done it with your football and your way of being. You’re a great one, my friend!”
Sergio Ramos, former club captain and now with Monterrey, delivered perhaps the most poetic tribute: “A genius, a friend, a brother says goodbye to Real Madrid — someone who turned football into an art form. One of those rare players who fills stadiums and stops the world whenever he takes the pitch.
“An extraordinary footballer and an even better person, someone I’m proud to call a friend. The Bernabeu’s floodlights may no longer shine for you, but the pages of Real Madrid’s history will always have your name beside the greatest. All the best for what comes next — we’ll be following closely. Yours always, Churu.”
