RTO/VIO mayors honours FCTA transport secretary

The Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) has decorated and inducted the Mandate Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Transportation Secretariat (FCTA) Rt. hon. Barr. Chinedu Eleshi as honourary mayor of the Federation.
The FCT Squadron Leader, National Coordinator, Road Traffic and Vehicle Inspection Officers( RTO/VIO) Dr Yusuf Suberu decorated the Mandate Secretary on Tuesday in Abuja.
Suberu emphasised that the essence of decorating the Mandate Secretary goes beyond his role as the secretary in charge of transport.
He said that it was done out of recognition for his past positive contributions to traffic volunteerism as a lawyer and two-time lawmaker.
According to him, Patriots committed to nation-building, particularly in traffic volunteerism, deserve to be honored and encouraged.
“With this induction as a mayor, we are optimistic that Barr. Elechi will, despite his tight schedule, contribute significantly to traffic control.
“He will also help in the enforcement, and enlightenment programmed which is in line with traffic management volunteerism, “he said.
In his response, the Mandate Secretary appreciated the VIO mayors for the gesture and promised to give his best to the success of the activities of the RTO/VIO mayors.
Eleshi called for bold initiatives to ensure that traffic-related issues were further enhanced through volunteerism.
He however, assured them of the support and cooperation of the secretariat in all the mayors’ activities.
